The Healing Point Chinese Medicine Clinic opened on March 1, 2007. This was just a couple months after the owners, Meggan Baumgartner and Lauri McKean, decided to re-locate to this lovely community. Prior to moving here, they had been studying and practicing Chinese medicine in Portland, OR at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. After four long years of graduate school in the big city, they were ready to put down roots in a smaller, progressive town.

Meggan and Lauri are both licensed and nationally board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbs. This allows them to utilize a broad range of Chinese medical modalities including acupuncture, Chinese herbs, therapeutic bodywork (massage), dietary recommendations and other adjunct therapies. These are all part of a holistic system that has been used successfully for over 2000 years. Although many of the basic tenants of this medicine date back to this time, it has also evolved tremendously and can be used in conjunction with modern Western medicine. Thus, it can effectively address many conditions including (but not limited to): pain, injuries, headaches, TMJ, stress, mental/emotional issues, asthma, allergies, colds and flu, menstrual problems, gastrointestinal issues, high blood pressure, and arthritis.

Healing Point offers a wide range of treatment options. Various methods can be combined to best fit the patient's needs and budget. For example, they provide sessions specifically for children as well as 'needle-free' treatments for those who have an aversion to acupuncture needles. Furthermore, they offer a unique low-cost, group treatment format that cuts the cost of a session by almost two-thirds! Additionally, discounts for seniors, students, and Moscow Food Co-op members are available for individual treatments.
