One World Cafe opened its doors for the first time on March 1st, 2005. Located
at the corner of 6th and Main in downtown Moscow, One World is a welcoming place
to socialize, and work in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. One World offers
exceptional coffee that is locally roasted in Troy, ID, along with bagels, soups,
salads, pastries, beer and wine.
Upon entering One World, customers immediately feel at home and among friends.
Many use the coffee shop as an alternative work space, complete with free wireless
internet service. One of the hallmarks of One World's philosophy is the private
meeting room, which community groups and others can use freely for their exchange
of ideas. An open mezzanine provides a space to observe the activity at the bar
below and to enjoy the local art on display throughout the store, while cozy
nooks provide a quieter experience. A variety of musical genres are represented
during live performances on stage on Friday and Saturday nights, and include
local and regional acts.
One World Cafe is owned by two families, who arrived in Moscow in 1997 and 2000.
Brandy Sullivan is a medical speech pathologist and her husband Jack is a professor
at the University of Idaho. Steffen and Nicole Werner are professors at Idaho
and Washington State. Their experiences in coffee shops across the United States
and Europe contributed to the concept of One World Cafe as a community meeting
place and shaped their goal to strengthen the role of downtown Moscow as a vibrant
and central part of the city's identity.
One World Cafe is open seven days a
week, 6:30am - 11:00pm weekdays, 7:00am - 11:00pm weekends.
