Gayne Nitta, LocoGrinz owner, was born in Moscow while both his parents attended the University of Idaho for graduate school. Upon his parents' graduation, he and his family moved back to the islands.

The University of Idaho Law School is what brought Gayne "home" along with his wife Tanya. After earning his law degree, Gayne decided to use his education to pursue a business career. He decided to combine his passion for food and business to enter the restaurant industry.

The result was the creation of LocoGrinz, Hawaiian BBQ. Loco stands for "local" and grinz means "food" in Hawaii thus LocoGrinz means "local food."

LocoGrinz serves entrees such as BBQ short ribs, pulled pig, and coconut shrimp complimented with side dishes such as macaroni salad, rice, and fried noodles.
